Wishing you presence over the holiday season, a house full of laughter with those you love and time to savor and be grateful for all that you have.
I will be taking time off to enjoy my family over the holidays. Have a wonderful holiday season. I can’t wait to be back online with you in January.
This Newsletter and You
High atop my savorings list is all of you who read and support this newsletter. I am so grateful for you all and look forward to next year. One of my highlights this year and with this newsletter is the new directory I created. I have long said every woman has a story to be told and this directory full of women’s stories further proves it.
I have a plan on how I would like to continue to share those stories in 2025. I’ll be sharing more in January.

“If I dismiss the ordinary - waiting for the special, the extreme, the extraordinary to happen - I may just miss my life.” - Dani Shapiro
An invitation to make 2025 a year of seeking magic in the mundane? I accept.
This Look Back at the Most Read Stories on The Cut
I always find look backs fascinating and this is no exception. What captured our attention this year? If you read The Cut, it’s this.
This Christmas Playlist
Tired of the same old Christmas songs? This playlist is a nice mix of the old and the new.
This Bravery
“It’s not for us to have shame - it’s for them.” - Gisele Pelicot
This Bench of Games
We are a family of games. Yesterday we organized our house for holiday fun. This bench of game signifies that the festivities have begun!
These Christmas Episodes
Even more than movies, I love to watch Christmas episodes from my favorite shows. Movies are shared with others, these I savor alone. Self care if you will. Friends, The Middle, Frasier and Modern Family.
These Three Movies to Watch Over The Holiday
While You Were Sleeping (What is it about Sandra Bullock?)
This Fun Fact
Some of the most famous Christmas songs were all written or co-written by Jews. The songs include: “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “White Christmas,” “Walking In a Winter Wonderland,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “The Christmas Song,” and the melody to “O Holy Night.”

This Tradition
We do a new pair of Christmas PJs each year and a new ornament for each of our kids. This makes for three festive nights. The 23rd is our annual PJ and ornament opening night, the 24th is, of course, Christmas Eve but ALSO Colton’s 19th birthday and Christmas is a full day and night of festivities. That stack on the left is our Christmas jammies.
I am extra excited to open them this year. Noah’s girlfriend, Morgan, is joining us and I FINALLY have someone to have matching pajamas with.
P.S. If you aren’t already subscribed, I have some fun and lofty plans for 2025 with this newsletter. Make sure you don’t miss out. Subscribe today!
Happy holidays to you all. See you in January!
The Holdovers, so good! And if Substack had an official game it would have to be Scrabble, no?
Loved the Holdovers, and we are also a game - and puzzle - family. Merry Everything to you!
